Patience

seems to be the theme for this month. Waiting for the weather to become tolerable for boating is not easy - everything gets put 'on hold'.

MWNN was hoping to install the new Hobbit stove in the boat this week but the weather has turned really nasty in Picardie and we are waiting to see what the weather brings after the coming May Bank Holiday Weekend.

We're both rather fond of Gilbert and Sullivan so I was delighted to discover a performance of Patience at the Queen Mother Theatre and bought  two tickets to last night's show staged by the local G&S Society.

It was an excellent production. Patience's 'Brummy' accent was adopted by the entire cast when they reverted to 'ordinary people' at the end.

Putteridge Bury G&S Society has recently made its new home in the Queen Mother Theatre. It's desperately short of younger male singers, having just one relatively youthful member who was cast as Reginald. The youthful Tim Sell was splendid. He reminds me very much of Matt Smith (the 11th Doctor)
