I love shopping in The Food Barn. It's run by the two blokes who own The Fox, a gastro-seafood pub in the heart of the village. Behind both is Manor Farm which supplies most of the fresh meat. Fish is delivered from the East Coast where there's the original fish restaurant and hotel still owned by the Food Barn proprietors. The Fox's Chef sends freshly baked bread twice a day to the Food Barn, along with produce such as fish-cakes, soup and sausage rolls. The Manager is knowledgeable about his products and always helpful, finding recipes if he can't call one to mind immediately. OK, stuff tends to be on the expensive side, but it's fresh, locally sourced wherever possible, and extremely good quality.
