It's that time of year again - the weekend in November when Hitchin Stitchin' gets together somewhere exotic in East Anglia for knitting, knattering, and generally enjoying one another's company without the intrusion of 'real life'.
For the past two years, we were made welcome at Dairy Barns. In fact, we took over Dairy Barns completely. Dairy Barns could accomodate up to 18 of us (in various combinations of twin and single rooms).
As our numbers have grown, sothe demand for places on this away weekend has outstripped Dairy Barns' capacity.
Rather than disappoint anyone, the venue for this year has shifted to the larger Belstead Brook Hotel,Suffolk. The package is for two nights; bed, breakfast and evening meal with use of the leisure facilities. For me, the big attraction is the Spa complex, with its pool.
I'm really looking forward to a relaxing weekend, beginning with a massage this afternoon, pre-dinner champagne in my suite, dinner in our own dining room, and a visit from the owner of the local yarn shop.
