Home Baking

Ever since Days of Ashwell Bakery (est 1734) opened a shop within walking distance of the house, we have been able to buy good quality bread. It has been very tempting to do this instead of baking our own.

Spelt/strong white loaf

Then we remembered how delicious home-baked bread is and started to use our 12 year old Panasonic SD 206 bread machine regularly again.

On average, I bake 2-3 loaves a week.

Very more-ish

1.5 tsp fast-acting yeast
250 g spelt flour
250 g strong white bread flour
1 tbs dried milk powder
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
25g butter (or olive oil)
275ml water

Bake on the standard white loaf setting (4 hours)
