Feed the Birds

The weather has been difficult recently. Flora and fauna have been conned into believing that Spring has arrived then - wham - the cold snap returns.

Replenishing the fat balls and wild bird seed supplies
We've struggled to keep the bird baths free from ice and snow. When that has been impossible, the birds don't visit the garden. But, when there is water available to them, they come to the bird table. I've stopped putting wild bird seed on the ground because I'm convinced that is what encouraged the field mice to invade. We put fat balls on the bird table and sprinkle seed around them.

Coal Tit

Regular visitors are a pair of collared doves, a robin, sparrows, blackbirds, starlings, finches, and, most recently, coal tits.
