It's not been that cold (yesterday, it was 14degrees) but it has been wet and dull and grey.
To dispell the gloom cast by the weather, the Christmas lights are up, the holly cut and brought in for the mantlepiece and window ledge, and the Christmas Cards are strung along the walls. The fire adds a cheery glow to an already cosy room.
