Why the red dragon

on the flag of Wales?

The answer is shrouded in myth and legend. However, the flag was used by Henry VII, at the Battle of Bosworth and, as we are in Pembrokeshire for the week, we could not pass up a visit to Henry VII's birthplace - Pembroke Castle.

From the castle walls to the river

Thursday was a grey, damp, day so beaches were out. Pembroke Castle was a bit challenging for the leg but was full of interest and spectacular views of the town and river below.

Dogs were allowed inside the castle so Ron had a great time exploring nooks and crannies and joining us looking over (sometimes through in his case) the walls.
