There's no finer place

There is nothing --absolute nothing--half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Simply messing. ~  Kenneth Graham

MWNN is in France, doing manly boaty things (removing the old stove chimney lining in preparation for a new stove) and checking up on the progress of the change of ownership of the Port de Plaisance.

There are several serious outstanding matters to be resolved, not least the repair of fresh water pipes to each pontoon and the electronics of the security gates. It seems that, for various reasons  over  the past few years, we have spent far less time messing about on the river than we have sorting out difficulties and doing repairs and maintenance.
