Just a 'Summer Filler'?

I think  The Hour is rather more than that. As someone who grew up in the 1950s and 1960s, I can relate to the rather po-faced presentation by the BBC of news that seemed to be content with fawning about he social life of the well-to-do/and/or famous and sporting events.

Plus, it's helping pay the mortgage for some rather good actors.

Romola Garai (Emma) as Bel Rowley
Ben Whishaw (local boy made good, Brideshead Revisited (2008)) as Freddie Lyons
Dominic West (The Wire) as Hector Madden

Also featuring
Burn Gorman (Torchwood) as Tom Gish
Jason Watkins
(Being Human) as George Banks
Tim Pigott-Smith
and Juliet Stevenson as Lord and Lady Elms
Anton Lesser
as Clarence Fendley,
Anna Chancellor
as Lix Storm
Julian Rhind-Tutt
as Angus McCain
