The Digital Wolf

An intriguing title and the second in the 'Hidden Academy' series by Jon Rosenberg.

I enjoyed the first (The Unicorn Crisis) so much that I didn't mind forking out a bit more dosh for this one.. The reviews are, if anything, stronger than for The Unicorn Crisis.

"I love the way this obviously intelligent and erudite author wears his learning so lightly and light-heartedly, I love his sense of place (Birmingham has never appeared to better effect)I love the way he inspires me to read the Nordic myths for myself rather than making me feel ignorant for not being already familiar with them."

In the space of two books I have become a total fan of Jon Rosenberg and The Hidden Academy.

I commented on Jon's 'promo' page on Amazon and was successful in persuading him to write an author 'bio'.

Born in London, too late to be a flower child but too early to take Gordon Gecko as his inspiration, Jon stumbled across three continents without ever discerning a guiding philosophy. As a child his parents seemed to think that anywhere which was synonymous with backwater, inbred, hillbilly jokes sounded just about right so he discovered the wild splendours of West Virginia, the Llyn Peninsula and the far north of the Scottish Highlands. Even though a succession of teachers had suggested that he was not particularly academically inclined, Jon studied Electrical Engineering, English Literature and American Studies, Shakespeare Studies and Law, in locales diverse as Edinburgh, Hull, Stratford and Singapore.

In a final attempt to escape any form of actual work he took up writing. Only to discover that it was far more demanding than any job he'd ever tried and more addictive than morphine. Clumsy to the point of tripping over blades of grass he took up Tai Chi in an effort to discover outer balance and it worked, these days there need to be at least three blades within a square inch before he lands face first in the dirt.

He lives in a tiny village somewhere in Shropshire, usually with one or more insane cats.
