I've pre-ordered books from Amazon before but always had to wait a couple of days after publication date for delivery.
I won't have to wait for the latest Jim Butcher novel, Ghost Story. I cancelled my order for the hardback edition when I discovered there was a cheaper Kindle edition which will be delivered directly to my Kindle on the day of publication.
