Vernal Equinox

Yesterday was the Vernal Equinox, the time when day and night are of equal length. It is a time of renewal, time to clear out the old wood of winter and celebrate new life, new beginnings.

I bought some 'fancy' daffodils at the weekend. They were tight buds until yesterday morning, when they'd opened and welcomed the equinox with this display of sunshine.

We're preparing to go to the boat for its relaunch in April so, this year, I will be in France on Mothering Sunday. This may be a good thing as it will be easier to cope this first year without Mum if I am not at home in the UK.
