Them's not geese, them's ducks

Indian Runner ducks to be precise.

The weather is still quite horrid and we'd run out of coal and logs. MWNN's back was still giving him gyp so I was sent as 'the little woman' to buy the fuel.

Having heaved the sacks into the back of the Beringo, the 'Eddy Grundy' proprietor had to go back to the farmhouse to get my change. I watched a pair of 'geese' foraging in front of the wood pile. I was intrigued by the very uprught birds who walked rather than waddled. I asked what breed of geese they were and was surprised to hear they were Indian Runner Ducks.

They're big birds and very beautiful. 'Eddy' told me that he'd been given the pair and that the female had just started laying. They're prolific egg producers apparently.
