I have an aversion to flying so the chaos at British airports did not affect our plans to head to the boat sometime in the first week of May. We travel by car and have an annual block booking with Eurotunnel over to Calais and back.

My sympathy throughout the chaos was with those who must decide if they would take their scheduled holiday flight, should it be available, and risk becoming stranded abroad as much as it was with those who were already stranded.
