Had my eye-test yesterday. All was well healthwise. The strange thing is that my distance vision has improved while my reading vision has worsened.

New frames were ordered - two for the price of one. Distance specs have additional anti-glare/anti-scratch coating, reading specs have anti-scratch coating. Both should be ready in a week's time.

I've just spent a lot of money on my new specs and still don't understand the logic (is there any? ) behind the fact that my hearing aid is free, as are the batteries and so too, now I'm officially a pensioner, is my prescription medication. When did the NHS start discriminating against dodgy eyesight?

In other news, I have a rotten sore throat, itchy eyes, congested lungs and am achey. Is it the 'flu' season again so soon?
