The hyacinths and dwarf daffodils I planted in the front drive pots in 2005, in memory of Ash, are in flower, bringing a welcome splash of colour to the north-facing front of the house.

They're the first thing I see when I swing my car round the 'cookie monster' trees and onto the drive.

The pansies have not flowered again since this photo was taken and the hyacinths are a much darker blue every year but they bring back memories of my lovely feisty boy.

The daffodils in the second pot were mere green shoots last week. Today the pot is choc-a-block with cheery little nodding heads of gold.
