Saturday

saw us lunching at the Zeus. It is a long time since we had a meal out together (November 2012) and we are making the most of the opportunity.

Before lunch, we'd gone slightly further afield for our walk with Ron. He's being lead-walked and 'enforce-rested' because he developed a severe limp in his front, right, paw a couple of days ago. We gave Ron a short walk (which was cutshort by a shower)along the Letchworth Greenway      .

MWNN then drove us to Steeple Morden, where he wanted to visited a War Memorial at the old airfield.

This is the memorial to Allied Forces who lost their lives between 1943 - 1945. The lists of American (USA) casualties is on the left. To the right is the list of UK and Commonwealth Service personnel.

Tributes to 355th Fighter Group. Wreaths from the USA (left) and UK (right)

Once again, rain drove us back to the car. We then had a fruitless search in Ashwell for a teashop in which to have a light lunch. As we made our way home, we stopped in Baldock where MWNN knew he would be served a fine two-course meze and I had omelette.
