The weather has been unseasonably wet and cold for so long that it comes as a great surprise that the strawberries on sale at the moment are simply delicious. The supermarkets are full of special offers for small, sweet, and juicy, Scottish Strawberries (the best IMO).
Strawberries and cream (hold the cream, the strawberries 'speak for themselves') tea is a summer favourite. I, for one, do not need the sun to encourage me to indulge in a little sweetness at teatime.
