What's in your Portsmouth Sandwich?

Mine's bacon, especially for Sunday brunch.

This week marks the 250th anniversary of the first recorded 'sandwich', ordered by the 4th Earl of Sandwich so that he could continue to eat while playing cards. John Montagu's friends asked "to have the same as Sandwich"

The Earl's ancestor, Edward Montagu, was offered a peerage in 1660. He could have chosen to take the title 'Earl of Portsmouth' but chose 'Sandwich' instead.

A bacon portsmouth doesn't have quite the same ring to it, does it?
