Yesterday

was All Saints Day, a Holy Day (from whence the word 'holiday' is derived) of Obligation in thel Roman Catholic Church.

We took advantage of the fine weather th take a short trip up the Great Northern Road (A1) to browse in a garden centre at Tempsford. We took the 'scenic route' home and stopped at The Anchor Inn, Great Barford, for a late lunch. Lunch wasn't bad but a little pricey.

As the sun was still shining when we left The Anchor, we walked Ron beside the river and along the footpath that goes underneath one of the arches of the famous 17 arched brick bridge spanning the Great Ouse and the flood plain.

Ron really enjoyed himself, even though we kept him on the expanding lead to prevent him going AWAL in the river. He was keen to play with two fellow-terriers we met on the way back towards the stile beneath the bridge.

A really great (holi)day.
