Our walk was preceded by lunch at the
Navigation Inn. It was a very cold day (8 degrees) with sunny periods and the odd shower. We decided not to leave Ron in the car as he was finding the weather too cold. We selected a table beside the bay window, in front of a nicely simmering wood fire.
Ron lay on the window ledge (these stone built houses have really thick walls) in full sun while
MWNN and I ate our 'bar snacks' (served all day) lunch.

The Navigation Inn is a very unmessed-about-with pub serving a well-kept bitter.

The interior is decorated with narrowboat '
roses and castles' and everywhere there is evidence of the links with the canal.
