Delicious autumn!

My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns." George Eliot

I love autumn. Perhaps it's because there are so many family birthdays in October? More likely it's the weather and the colours in the Engish countryside.

Although they are not as long, the days are often bright and sunny - and it's not too hot. The low angle of autumn sun brings a kinder warmth, a glow matching that on the trees. A 'season of mist' - at times - of 'mellow fruitfulness' - always.

MWNN is due home today. Fingers crossed that there is no 'last minute crisis' that prevents him leaving the boat.
