Contented wi' little

When it comes to life the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude.

Yesterday was 'Burns Night'. Burns had this to say about life

Contented with little and jolly with more,
Whenever I forgather with Sorrow and Care,
I gave them a slap, as they are creeping along,
With a dish of good new ale and an old Scottish song.
(translated from dialect)

We often fail to appreciate the little things in life.  We need to to stop, take a deep breath and simply enjoy the moment. Take time to appreciate the simple things; the field full of wildflowers,
a dish of good new ale  a cup of tea, a roof over your head, food to eat, eyes to read this. Take pleasure in what is, rather than struggle for what is not or what we think 'ought to be'.

Our existence becomes more valuable to us when we learn appreciation and gratitude.
