Lavender's blue

After an absence of a few weeks, the sun came out yesterday and MWNN (that's him climbing up the footpath towards the Icknield Way that runs across the top of the photo) suggested a walk with Ron. I wanted to take photos of the sunflowers and lavender fields so we went to one of our favourite walks along the Icknield Way.

We haven't used that walk for a long time and were surprised to find that most of the sunflowers had already been harvested. I'd forgotten it was Monday so was disappointed that we couldn't have tea and cake in Hitchin Lavender's Barn.


There was quite a stiff breeze blowing, which was a challenge to the close-up setting on the camera. The light changed as the clouds were passing rapidly over the sun. Despite the difficult conditions and lack of tripod, some of the photos came out well.
