Valentine's Day meal

My version of cassoulet
Lamb Chops
Pork Sausages
Canned tomatoes
Canned Chick Peas
Canned Butter Beans
Chopped onions, garlic
Cup red wine
Vegetable stock
Herbs (oregano, basil)
Worcester sauce
Sweat onions and garlic in a little butter.
Brown chops and sausages and remove for later
Add other ingredients and bring to boiling point.
Place chops and sausages on top.
Cover and cook in a slow oven for 2 hours.

This is suitable for cooking in a slow cooker, on low, for about 4 hours.

Serve with fresh, crusty bread and a good red wine.

We had this on Valentine's Day with some champagne and heart-filled chocolates. The Valentine Card from MWNN was, as usual home-made with love. Pictured behind the red roses with thorns (a reminder that love doesn't always run smoothly), the verse reads -

40 years of Valentine
Skills once learned are never lost
But practice brings perfection,
And the same is truly said of love
and great affection.
