We live in a hard-water area and are used to tea and coffee made with added limescale. Earlier this week, I bought a new kettle; one with a water filter built into the top. It's very quick, both in filtering the water and boiling it. You can start the kettle once the filter compartment has filtered the first two cupfuls and can add more as it's coming to the boil. It's taking a little getting used to but I think I prefer the taste of the tea made with filtered water.

This morning I had a pot of Irish Breakfast blend from All About Tea, strong and slightly smokey, with my first bowl of Grape Nuts. The dried fruit was a mistake but I quite like the crunchy malty cereal as an occasional alternative to my usual Weetabix with hot milk.
