Mandalay - at last

Arrived on Sunday in glorious sunshine. First view of the sea, from the Sitting Room.

View from my bedroom.

Second bedroom overlooks Ferry Road.

Alf spent the first day on the beach, doing zoomies in the dunes and on the sand.

Pure joy.

Had a walk at sunset and was guided back by the lamps

The sky was full of stars that night.

Plenty of parking outside the house, on private 'driveway'.

Monday 28th

We walked up to Gun Hill and took photos of our favourite table.

Alf really does enjoy the freedom of the beach. I'm a little wary while on the dunes, as he's just discovered yummy rabbit droppings and has found a couple of scrapes.

There are no tea bars open, despite the sunny weather. But, the house is right there, on the dunes, so it's not necessary to stop for a drink.

It is necessary to stop for a rest. I'd forgotten how hard it is walking in wellies on the sand.

I've already had to refill the bird feeder. Once it falls below the level of the top perches, there are fights breaking out between all the birds that visit.

I've seen lots of finches of the sparrow variety, blue tits, pigeons, magpies, gulls, starlings, and crows.

This video shows the interior of Mandalay.
